About Us ...

Spreading hope throughout the community

UHope CDC is a beacon of hope for homeless men and veterans in our community. We offer emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and personalized support to help men reclaim their lives. Beyond housing, we actively contribute to community initiatives like Toys-for-Tots, spreading joy to children in need every holiday season. Our youth outreach program empowers young men aged 18-25 by providing housing and vital resources, ensuring that the next generation has the support they need to thrive.

Restoration The Spirit

At UHope CDC, we believe that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and a safe place to call home. Rooted in Christian values and a deep sense of community, we view each individual not by their past or current struggles—but by their potential for growth, healing, and success. We serve with empathy, walk in faith, and strive to uplift those who are most vulnerable among us.

Our Mission

To provide housing, support, and hope to homeless men, veterans, and young adults—empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and faith. Through shelter programs, transitional housing, community outreach, and spiritual support, we are committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and restoring lives one person at a time.

Our Vision

To create a thriving community where no man is left behind, every veteran is honored with stability, and every young person has the tools to build a better future. We envision a world where homelessness is replaced by opportunity, where faith fuels healing, and where everyday people come together to uplift their neighbors.

Aletha Scott-Mallory

Founder

Aletha Scott-Mallory, the heart behind UHope CDC, was born in Liberia and came to the United States to pursue her college education at Western Kentucky University. Raised in a close-knit Christian village, Aletha grew up with a deep sense of faith, community, and compassion. Her upbringing instilled in her a lifelong passion for giving back and standing beside those in need. Guided by her faith and a calling to serve, Aletha founded UHope in 2008 with a mission to support homeless men and veterans in rebuilding their lives. Her vision was simple yet powerful: to create a place where people could find shelter, dignity, hope, and the resources to begin again. Since then, she has helped over 1,000 men find stability and purpose through UHope’s programs. Aletha continues to lead with humility, dedication, and an unwavering belief that true change begins when we come together to uplift one another.
